The Museum of the White War

In Temù you can visit the Museo della Guerra Bianca in Adamello (Museum of the White War at Adamello). Since 1974, this museum has been dedicated to preserving and highlighting the historical legacy of the First World War, especially in the high mountain region from the Stelvio Pass to Lake Garda, scene of the ”White War,” an area still marked by the events of the Great War. The museum organizes many activities including guided visits, scientific research, exhibits, publications and meetings with schools. The most interesting site and the greatest source of pride for the Territorial Museum is the Bocchetta di Val Massa, upriver from Villa Dalegno, for its perfect preservation, considerable architectural value and spectacular view.

Ethnographic Museum of Vione

So as not to forget the signs of man’s age-old love/subjection relationship with the countryside, the thousand signs of a farmer’s interaction with the land and the animals around him, in order to safeguard the value of this cultural legacy and to remember past customs and habits, Vione has opened an ethnographic or ethno-agricultural museum called “EL ZUF”, “the yoke”, the symbol of hard work for men and animals. A group of arts and crafts objects, collected “before darkness falls” fills a 250-meter space inside the town’s elementary school.

Adamello Park House

The Adamello Park House organizes various activities and houses the Visitors’ Center which includes an environmental education center, an information office and a naturalist museum.

The organized activities are:

  • walks to observe local mountain fauna
  • hikes to listen to deer belling
  • classical music concerts in the mountains
  • evening hikes to look at the night sky
  • guided visits to the Naturalist Museum
  • donkey treks
  • weekend mycology hikes

The Train of Flavors

The “Treno dei Sapori,” or the Train of Flavors, is an electric diesel engine pulling two rail cars, specially rebuilt inside and out to maintain the original structure of cars from the early 1900s.

The train departs from Brescia, crosses the Franciacorta territory, travels along Lake Iseo and climbs through Val Camonica to Edolo. During the trip, you can enjoy the beauty of the land and sample the local foods and wines of the area.

National Park of Rock Drawings

The Camuni are credited with the origin of the Lombardy symbol, the Camunian Rose.

The Camuni were an ancient Italian population who lived in Val Camonica during the Iron Age (1st millennium BC); there are also called by the Latin name Camunni, attributed to them by the authors of the 1st century, or ancient Camuni, to distinguish them from the current inhabitants of the valley.

Among the greatest producers of rock art in Europe, their name is linked to the famous rock engravings of Val Camonica, which constitute - given the scarcity of archaeological remains such as necropolises, grave finds and inhabited areas - the main source of cultural evidence of this ancient people.
